Heart Health

Heart diseases are primarily caused by high blood pressure, inappropriate lifestyle, stress, smoking, diabetes, lack of exercise, obesity, high blood cholesterol (higher oxidized LDL), poor diet, and excessive alcohol consumption, among others – these factors cause Atherosclerosis (plaque deposit on artery walls and consequent hardening and narrowing of arteries) and blockage of coronary (heart) arteries eventually leads to heart attack (myocardial infarction).

Required Supplements for recovery :

Omega 3 fatty acids: They are natural anti-inflammatory that cut down inflammation; they increase the HDL levels, decrease the LDL levels.

Garlic: Allicin in garlic reduces the buildup of plaque in the arteries.

CoQ10: Helps energy production in cellular mitochondria which is important for cardiac cellular health; it serves as a powerful anti-oxidant neutralizing effects of oxidative stress in blood lipids. For example, LDL (low density lipoprotein) itself is not bad BUT oxidized LDL leads to plaque deposit and narrowing of arteries that can lead to heart attack (myocardial infarction); intake in supplement form is important because difficult for body to make CoQ10 as it requires 8 vitamins to make it.

Calcium & Magnesium: important for heart muscles contraction and relaxation.

Our health is the biggest wealth we have

But are we seriously taking care of it ?

  1. Are you doing a regular health check-up ?
  2. Do you know, biggest problem of gym-goers and athletes is “recovery” ?
  3. Do you know the role bone density plays in weight exercises? When did you assess BMD last time ?
  4. Do you know what havoc sweating plays on collagen and elastin ?
  5. Do you know your FFM (Fat Free Muscles) ?
